A Renessanse project · in development
The knowledge that lives in people,
kept for good.
Akashics is building Akasha — a non-profit, educational AI you can simply talk with to learn the world's real knowledge: its cultures, its histories, the traditions carried by the people who live them. Not the scraped web. The knowledge that was kept by hand, and almost never written down.
Once in memory, always in history.
Why
Most of what humanity knows was never written down.
Models learn the written, scraped world — the part of human knowledge that made it into text. But the deepest knowledge lives elsewhere: in oral history, in craft and custom, in the memory of elders and the stories communities carry. It was never in a dataset, so no model ever learned it.
And every year, some of it is lost — or quietly erased. Akasha is built to learn exactly that, and to hand it back to anyone willing to ask.
The idea
An education you can talk to.
Akasha will be a non-profit model trained on the open knowledge of humankind — folklore, oral tradition, history, craft — gathered from the people who actually carry it: historians, teachers, storytellers, elders.

01
From real people
Sourced and attributed, with communities keeping authorship of their own stories. Gathered with care, not scraped.
-
02
Learn by conversation
Ask in your own words, in your own language. Learn your people's knowledge, and everyone else's — by simply talking.

03
Non-commercial by design
Built to be given away. Funded by our other work, never by ads or by selling what you bring.
"Once in memory, always in history."
What we hold to
Kept by the people history overlooked.
So much of it was passed mouth to mouth, held in a craft, sung instead of printed — never written, never scraped. That knowledge is real, and it belongs to everyone.
The record should belong to everyone, and answer to the people it came from.
Akasha is for keeping it, and giving it back — centering the people the knowledge comes from, not the powers that buried it.
How it fits
A living commons, and a long memory.
What people share at Crowd Heuristics — our open commons for the knowledge that was never written down — is what Akasha will learn. One gathers; the other remembers.
Both are Renessanse: a small team of humans and AI, building tools meant to outlast us. Akasha comes after the foundation we're laying now — we'd rather build it right than fast.
This grows by connection.
If you carry a tradition, teach, research, tell stories — or you just believe this should exist — we want to hear from you. Akashics is early, and the people who shape it now shape what it becomes.
